www.aboriginalaffairs.gov.on.ca/english/negotiate/algonquin/preliminary-draft-aip.aspThis might be of interest to many members of the Sporting Dog Association. The Algonquin Indians have a tentative agreement with the "Government" to settle their land claim . It potentially involves the transfer of 117,500 acres of land. I've scanned through the document, there is a lot of legalize in the document. I can think of several questions to ask at a meeting when ever it happens. This will also be of interest to many hunt camp lease holders on crown land. They missed our camp, however not by much and are to attain several large blocks of land that might be considered crown land all around. I can't imagine " the existing uses continuing under new ownership in " fee simple". The tax payer will also pay to have the lands surveyed for title transfer, along with $3oo million in cash.
